Eloy Aguilar

Eloy Aguilar was born in Granada, Spain in 1974. He holds a  MastersDegree in Scenic Arts from the Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid University, a title of Superior in Spanish Dance Pedagogy from the Instituto Superior de Danza Alicia Alonso at the Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid University and Superior Education in Dance Pedagogy of The Flamenco Dance from the Conservatorio Superior de Danza Maria de Avila  in Madrid.

 

He studied at the Spanish Dance School with Maite Galán, Classic Dance Studies with Anna Novas, Flamenco Studies at the Flamenca Mariquilla School, Carmen de las Cuevas School and the Adrián Sánchez School in Granada as well as Amor de Dios Studios in Madrid. He has trained with Matilde Coral, Aida Gómez, José Antonio,Isabel Bayón, Rafaela Carrasco, Currillo, Ana María Bueno, Alfonso Losa, La Tacha,Manuel Núñez, Juan Carlos Lérida, Joaquín Ruiz, Juan Andrés Maya and Beatriz Martín.

 

Since his debut as  a professional dancer in 1994, Eloy Aguilar’s career has  led him to work in some of the most prestigious groups in the Spanish Dance and Flamenco world, with many roles as a soloist and first dancer, as well as choreographic assistant and as choreographer . Upon completing his education in Spanish Dance Pedagogy, he began his teaching career, giving choreography workshops for summer courses at San Lorenzo del Escorial, teaching courses in Pádua, Italy and  for the Flamenco company At Route in Switzerland.

 

Some of the most well-known international theaters and festivals where he has performed include Real de Madrid Theater, Liceo de Barcelona Theater, La Maestranza de Seville, Theatre ele la Zarzuela de Madrid, Paris Opera, Berlin Opera, Semper Opera Dresden, State Theater of Sidney, Forum Theater Tokyo, Opera House in Cairo, City Center New York, Guggenheim Museum in New York, Flamenco Festival London at the Sadler Wells Theater, Festival de Musica y Danza in Granada and Festival Flamenco Jerez -Theatre Villamarta. 

He performed in "De la Luna al Viento","Flamenco Republic","Canciones Antes de una Guerra", "Sevilla","Flamenco y Poesía" and "Autorretrato" with the Maria Pages Company, in "Después de Carmen", "Reencuentros" and "Boda Flamenca" with the Antonio Marquez Company and "Sueños" and "Salome" with the Aida Gomez company.

With the Rafael Aguilar company, he performed in "Carmen", "Ginastera" and "Bolero Flamenco", and with Flamencos in Route Company in Switzerland "Caprichos Flamencos", "Hautnah", "Resonancias", "A Solas y a Dos", "Mírame", "Caleidoscopio", "A Flor de Piel" and "Florescencia", in which he was also a choreographer, "Orfeo y Euridice”. “Das Paradies", "El Rubí", "Canto Amor", "Babel. Torre Viva", "Siesta", "Perlas Peregrinas", "Haiku Flamenco" and"A Donde Vas, Seguiriya".

 

He worked in the Belen Lopez Company in  "Atrapados por el Arte", and with the Jose Manuel Huertas Company in "Formas Flamencas".

 

Mr. Aguilar worked in Madrid’s Ballet de Camara as a soloist and choreographer.

He worked in three projects as a principal dancer and choreographer with Ballet Flamenco La Rosa in Miami, Florida, USA including "Directo al Corazon", "Señorita Julia, and "El Padre". In the España Baila company he performaed in "El Poder de la Danza" , and in the Ibertango Camerata Company, he performed in the International Festival de Tango de Granada and  International Festival de Tango Costa del Sol. He danced in the Antologia de la Zarzuela Company,  Ballet Televisión Española (Jose Luis Moreno), the Manuel Nunez Company, and in many operas and zarzuelas, including "La Traviata" (Festival de Opera de Avenches, Suiza), "Carmen" (Teatro Real de Madrid),"La Bruja" (Palau de les Arts Valencia),"La canción del olvido" (Teatro Villamarta de Jerez), "Aida" (Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona), Compañía "Antología de la Zarzuela" (Madrid), Cía. de Zarzuela José Luis Moreno. Teatro La Latina (Madrid), and Teatro Buero Vallejo (Guadalajara).

 

He has performed in many Flamenco Tablaos including Tablao "Villarrosa"  and "Corral de la Pacheca" in Madrid and Tablao "Corral del Príncipe", Tablao "Venta del Gallo", Tablao "Reina Mora"  and Flamenco "Curro Albaycín" in Granada.

Eloy Aguilar has also performed at The Great Mallorca Casino, Estoríl Casino (Portugal), Gran Canatia Casino,  Exit Palace 29 (Tenerife), Isla del Lago, Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) and Palace de Lloret de Mar (Girona)
